Over 1.5 days of training you will examine:
Duties and responsibilities of the Not for Profit Director
- Your role as a director
- Importance of fulfilling the vision, mission and values of the organisation for which you are a director
- Process of induction for new directors
- Duties and responsibilities
- Reporting and disclosure requirements of NFP organisations
- Conflicts of Interest
- Good practice governance structures
Strategy and Risk for the Not for Profit Director
- The director’s role in formulating and overseeing strategy
- The director’s role in risk oversight, monitoring and management
- Stakeholder and stakeholder management strategies
- Board issues with fundraising and sponsorship
- Risk appetite and how this effects board decisions
Finance for the Not for Profit Director
- The directors role in signing off reports and evaluating financial solvency
- Commonly used accounting terminology
- Examining financial statements and what they tell us
- How do they tell the story of the organisation?
- Reports required by funders, government agencies & regulators
