Future leaders prepare to step up and to speak out

The 2016 Leadership Great South Coast (LGSC) cohort experienced a day of growth, reflection and presentation skill development on their second skills day of the program in Port Fairy.

As the cold South West Winter sets in and the group reaches the halfway point of the year, the skills day was a terrific opportunity to reflect, consolidate, and realign as they continue on with their journey. The LGSC participants welcomed back Lead Facilitator Corrinne Armour, and welcomed for the first time Helga Svendsen who was assisting for the day.  The day focused on the theme of speaking out in public with the participants being exposed to a variety of styles and techniques for communicating more effectively.

The afternoon included an exploration of the work of renowned American author and leadership coach Malcolm Goldsmith, particularly his reminder that ‘what got you here, won’t get you there’.  The group now embarks onto the next stage of the journey refreshed and invigorated, with their team projects continuing to develop.

A huge thank you goes out to the inspiring facilitators Corrinne Armour, and Helga Svendsen,, and the tremendous organisers Amanda Hennessy, and Mandy Maglaras, thanks also to Moyne Shire for hosting the group.
